Stucco Texture: Fine
In the articles about coarse stucco texture it was seen that stucco is nothing more than a mixture of cement, sand and water and color pigment to get the color that is desired. If color is added then stucco will dry with a gray appearance due to the presence of the cement. Stucco is often used to hide blemishes on a wall or even to decorate the wall itself. There are many textures that can be achieved by manipulating the sizes of the aggregates used in the mixture or by using hand movements with a trowel to get the desired texture. Stucco can either be coarse, fine or in between. Homeowners that are very conscious about the external part of their homes are generally more prone to go for fine stucco because it gives a more professional appeal.
There are, however, those that prefer the coarse type of stucco and this can be seen clearly in more older homes. If you are thinking about applying stucco siding and have never done this before then you may want to talk with an architect or engineer to get recommendations as to what is best for you given your weather conditions and other external factors. While this is a DIY task there are certain precautions that have to be observed when mixing and adding each component. A mixture that has not been done properly will crack easily and offer very little resistance to the elements.
