  • Use a very high quality caulk to seal up the cracks that you notice in the stucco. The caulk can be spread out in the cracks with the use of your fingers. Once you have sealed the cracks then use a damp cloth to remove any excess and wait until it is dry, This applies to small cracks or larger cracks please see below.
  • For wider cracks you will need: a bonding agent, polyvinyl acetate (PVA), Portland Cement , sand and water. First clean out the crack and sprinkle some water in it to prevent the water from the stucco leeching out. Mix one part cement to 4 part sand (builders sand) and a bit of water. After this apply the the bonding agent to the crack. Use the mortar to fill the crack and cover this up with bitumen-coated fiberglass. When the first cost of bituman is dry apply a second coat.
  • After stripping the second coat carefully you may then paint the area. The overall process of repairing stucco siding does not require great skills, but care must be taken when mixing the mortar to repair large cracks.
