Tips On Cleaning Stucco Siding

As some point in time it will be necessary to clean stucco siding. Luckily this is not a difficult task and in some cases just the simple use of water and detergent is enough to remove dirt and certain stains from stucco. However there are cases where cleaning stucco siding is a bit more than turning on some water, soaping up and washing off. Like many surfaces that are made with the use of cement, efflorescence is quite likely to appear on some stucco siding. Efflorescence is not difficult to remove and clean;just the use of a stiff brush is enough to remove this salt like substance that builds up on any surface. However, it is best to use a neutralizing solution that can be bought at your local improvement store or made at home by combining one part vinegar with five parts of water.

For mildew stains bleach is an excellent option for cleaning stucco siding. Simply protect yourself with the right clothing and then get a bottle ans squirt the bleach on the area that has the mildew. After you have done this you can wash off with the use of a hose. It is best to wash from bottom to top and when you are rinsing you do the opposite. Bleach may leave some marks on the wall by leaving the area in which it was applied a bit clearer than other sections. You may consider repainting the area if the appearance bothers you.
